Browsing through all the little squash and gourds at the grocery stores, one has a problem picking which to buy! They are all so pretty and so different. This little Gold Nugget Squash may be cooked and eaten (very sweet, fine-grained and smooth, so they say) and now that I've painted it, I'm looking forward to doing just that. Painting it was very enjoyable! I love the orange blends and added a couple of small yellow maple leaves on the shadowed side. It is painted in detail with luscious warm colors...and brush-coated with a satin finish for protection. Initialled on the front, signed and dated on the back along with the title and medium used.

A single dark pink rose in bright sunlight under blue sky.. the perfection in roses and the way in which the petals unfurl, curling one by one, is amazing. Painted on 140-lb Cold Press Watercolor Paper. Shown are two lovely pink Cosmos, in detail, with a smaller one in the shadows, plus buds here and there in the greenery. The flowers are painted in bright sun with stark shadows. In the shadows one can see luminous warm pink reflections. The centers are touched with yellow-orange acrylic, and the greens vary from pale olive to dark green, phalo blue and ultramarine blue. Sprayed with a light fixative coating for protection.
