Two delectable plums on a branch with small scraggly leaves, in luscious hues of dark red to plum to purple - with touches of the pale blue frosty color that make plums such an interesting subject! Picked two days ago and waited to pose for me today. If you love violet/purples, this is your cup of tea. Even the background is pinky-violet. Simply lovely! As I was growing up, we had a bed of these poppies next to the outdoor steps leading to our kitchen. They were the bright spot of my morning, just as they are for Californians in the rolling coastal hills of the Pacific landscape. California Poppies are a favorite everywhere! Another beautiful little ACEO original acrylic painting on Cold Press Illustration Board ~ the first plum picked from a family tree this summer, so perfect and so pretty in shape and color that I wanted to preserve it in a painting before enjoying the juicy sweet flavor. This one not quite ripe, future plums will be a luscious dark violet-red, and the tree is covered with them! No doubt I'll do another painting, of a ripe plum. This one was painted with great care in a realistic style, then brush-coated with a satin finish, giving it a rich soft glow overall.
